 I am going to miss my teachers and I hope they you have great christmas, to miss Garden, Mr Goodwin, Miss Jacobsen and Mr S I hope you have a great holiday. I had a great time with you and had fun doing art, maths, writing, Reading. The teacher that I like  is Mr Goodwin Because he's kind to me and lets me have two milks when we get it on Tuesday and Thursday. And to Mr S I enjoy coming to you when its Maori on Fridays, You are a really cool guy and you are funny to me and you got SWAGG.

We have been reading about the Victorian Age. We found out that children used to learn which countries were part of the British Empire by looking on a map. All of the countries in the British Empire were red or pink. I have highlighted the countries in the British Empire during the Victorian Era in red or pink.

How To Be The Best Pt Englander.

If you want to be a good pt englander follow these three steps. You need  to be polite, wear it with pride and be cyber smart.. You need to do these three things so that we can learn and be smart.

Being polite is when you say polite stuff like thank you,excuse me and please. Theres another way that you can be polite like respecting teachers and other kids in your school. When theres a ice cream truck and you go buy a ice cream and he gives you it you say thank you.

Next is wear it with pride, wear it with pride is when we have to stay in our school uniform to represent our school. If we don’t wear our school uniform we will embarrass our school. We can wear it with pride by not wearing our jumpers around our waist.

A good Pt Englander is Cyber smart. We have to be cyber smart so that we learn different things. If we play games we will destroy our learning. I can be cyber smart by finishing off my work that the teacher has given me and not be dodgy and play games.

I told you about being a good Pt Englander and finishing your work and doing the right thing that your teacher is telling you to and don't play games that you weren't post to do.

Holiday Hightlight

The heavy ball speed down the lane. All the pins got knock over. STRIKE! On the 12th of October me and my family went bowling for my aunty and my uncle’s last day being at NZ. On my first turn I got me a heavy ball and I bowed the ball really strongly to the pins and got a strike.

after we finished that we went to laser strike to go in the dark and have a war. My name was The Law and there was different teams that had names, there were blue,red and green I was in the red team with my dad,cousins and my uncle, we were the winning team because of me, because I got 6000 points and the other had 3000, 4000 and 2000.

Then the game ended and I felt really good that I made my team win really easy and we had to go home and have some fish and chips for our lunch. I had a big fish,potato fritter, hot dog and a sausage with chips.

Then the next day we went to the airport at 5:oo in the morning and had some mcdonald's for breakfast. When it went to 5:30 they left and we said goodbye to them and see you next year uncle and aunty.

Creative Spring Writing

Today in class we have been doing creative writing. We had to write a sentence about this picture. As a class we chose the sentence we liked to best and then added to it. Here is my sentence and the sentence I added to.

In the beautiful spring I can smell the nice nature and flowers, and I see the very sunshining sun.

Under the oak tree,kicked back by the beach from a view,chill going down your spine, the bright sun light  on you. I relax watching the children on the with an awesome view of spring.

In assembly Mr Burt was talking about our new korero called use my brain use my heart i'm gonna be cybersmart. Mr Burt made that korero because people were doing the wrong thing on their netbooks and being too much playing music.

Use my brain means when you use your brain if you're being dodgy on your netbook. You listen what your head says and you have to go on the right thing and you be cybersmart.

Use my heart is when your feelings feel sad or worry or feel guilty that you should not be on something that you are not aloud to go on. Because if you are not on the right thing you will be on the detention at lunch time.Thats just sad because you don't get to have fun outside with your friends and enjoy your whole day to like school.

Cybersmart means you are being cybersmart that you are doing the right thing on your netbook and finishing your work off. Its good to be cybersmart because some teachers call you it because you're a good boy or girl be kind to kids and be a good friend two others. Cybersmart will help you with your learning and your whole kindness at school to be cybersmart.

So when your at school use your brain use your heart your going to be cybersmart of your learning.

Pigs and Ducks

I know that I have 2 legs. I did 2 circles and drew 2 legs on each circle which made 22 legs. I added 2 more legs to 3 circles to make 3 pigs and 8 ducks. There are 8 ducks in the paddock

On the Island 2

I have been reading about a girl who is going mutton birding with her family at big south cape Island. I have been doing researching all about people doing mutton birding in different Island. I've been imagine the Future of me doing mutton birding with all of my family friends, best friends and a mutton birding expert.

On the Island

I have been reading about people going to get muttonbirds. I found out that they go to a big south cape island to find the mutton birds. Not everyone can go muttonbirding only Rakiura Maori and their descendants can go and collecting muttonbirds. They go muttonbirding for only 2 months each year. This is because that is when the season is ending.

I have been reading a book about hunting for mutton birds.

Annyong Means Hi

In South Korean Schools there are 3000 students and 40 children in each class but in New Zealand there are only about 600 students at the schools and 30 children in each class. South Korea’s school buildings are 4 storeys high and the students have to use a lift if their class is on the 4th floor. New Zealand schools only have single storey buildings and all the children walk to their classes. Most schools in New Zealand have lots of grassy areas for the children to play in and they can play in barefeet. In the South Korean Schools they only have sand and concrete and have to leave their shoes on.

Explaining My Event

Soccerbasket is a made up game that was created by Maysun Schaaf. It’s going to be played in the 2018 Commonwealth games. The aim of the game is you have to kick a soccer ball in to the basketball hoop.

The Equipment you need is a basketball hoop, your team shirts, shin pads and a soccer ball.  You will need a basketball court sized field with grass on it to play on.

Your team will have 10 players on the field who have different positions. They will play attacker, defender, striker, goalkeeper or center. The rules are no tripping other players,no pushing,if the team kick the ball out the other team get a free kick.

Table Tennis

What is Table Tennis?

Table Tennis is a commonwealth sport. You have to hit and serve a small ball to the other side.

What are the rules of Table Tennis

The players serve two serves in a row then they switch. If the score is 10-10 then they only serve once. After each game they switch sides of the table. They play 5 sets and the winner is the person who wins the most sets.

Who is good at it

The Singapore team and Japanese team are good at table tennis. The serve and hit really well. Their backhand is amazing to watch.

Culture Dictogloss

Culture is when people speak different languages, eat different foods and have different traditions like drumming. My culture is Tonga and Cook Island. We like eating coconut in Tonga and Cook island.

Different countries have different cultures. In Japanese culture they wear kimonos, arrange flowers and have tea ceremonies.

I had been reading a book about the best b-boy break dancing crew in New Zealand. 

Cutting breaks means that it keeps the beat and sound going without a break. You can dance good to it. The mixing records so that the sound never stops.

Triangles 180°

The angles of a triangle all add to 180°. I cut out triangles ripped off their corner angles and put them together to show 180°.

World War 1

This morning we had a special assembly to remember the people that were in the World War 1. We were looking at some World War 1 photos of some army and the countries that were fighting in the war. Mr Burt and Mrs Flavell’s grandads were in the war, and we saw a photo of them with their army clothes on. Mr Burt told us to look at the big screen and we would see the NZ flag rising up the flagpole. When it got to the top it was going to be lowered to half way to show respect to the soldiers who died. There was bugle playing The Last Post. When assembly finished Mr Burt asked us to go back to our classes quietly.

I have been searching about World War 1  and I found these facts out.

World War 1 facts  

The first world war was in Europe it started on 28 July 1914 and went until 11 November 1918.

100,000 New Zealand men signed up to fight in the first world war.

In the world war 1 16,697 Kiwi soldiers were killed and 41,317 were wounded.

Maori soldiers first serve in World War 1 with the New Zealand Army.

Commonwealth games history

The commonwealth games were also called the friendly games,The first commonwealth games was held in 1931 in Canada. 11 countries sent 400 athlete people all together to do 6 different sports and 59 events. The games were always played every 4 years but in 1941 and 1946 the world war two was happening and the games was cancelled because of the war.The commonwealth games have changed a lot even its name

My holiday highlight

Can you smell the yummy donuts because in the holidays I went to make donuts with my family at Otara. We were selling food like poke and mayonnaise to get some money at the market.

First when we got there we set up the table. Then when we finish doing the table we chuck the poke on first and when the poke box is empty we but the mayonnaise on the table and the donuts on the corner on the table.

One person asked for 3 pokes and  a bag of donuts. I said that will be $21.30. Then they gave me the money and I said “thank you for coming to our one”. We sold food to lots of people. They looked like they were enjoying our food.

I was so tired after my day of selling food. I went straight to sleep and woke up at 2 o’clock in the morning.

Sunk by a whale

In 1820 there was a whaling ship called the Essex, they were sailing through the Pacific Ocean. They where going to hunt for whales in the Pacific Ocean and get some whale meat.

Then something made the ship go wiggle and wiggle. Then when they found out what it was they said that it was a 32 meters sperm whale that hit our ship. Then only 20 people survive in three boats escaping from a whale attack.

Then they didn't eat for three months and they got hungry and hungry. then there was a young man name Owe coffin, his mates got a gun and shoot him and eat him alive on the little boat.

Whaling

Whaling is when people go hunting for whales in Iceland and get meat,oil and whale bone from fin whales. The people from Germany get the whale meat from Iceland and put it into six containers and then they put the six containers into another boat and translate it to Japan.

The hunters are now using really big ships to hunt more whales just to make oil and make soap,light your lantern and for face cream. They are using big ships to hunt whales and get more money and more money and for more money so they can be rich.

My nana and mum

My nana is a teddy bear because she is always nice and cuddled. She doesn't like checkey kids if we get checkey to her she will give as a smack with a broom and send us to the thinking conner and stay there to think what we did and we have to be quiet. My nanny is different to other nans because my nana smells like raw fish. I love my nana because she is my favorite nan in the whole family and she is the kindest man I ever had and she gives me lots and lots of money to go buy something for me from the shop up the roads in my streets.

My mum is the hugest mum and coolest teddy bear . she is the coolest mum and she does really cool things and lets me play on her laptop and lets me play on her ps3 and buys me really cool things like toys and video games. sometimes my mum hates when we are very noisy and crazy. I love my mum she is the best and the biggest coolest teddy bear and she is kind to me as well just like my favorite nana.

My little brother Kennedy is my favorite brother in the whole family. Since I was ten and my little brother was 5 and when he First came to school he was very lonely and had no friends to play with at play time, he was bored playing at the playground all by himself. Displacement Experiment

Why do some things float while others sink? Some of them are heavy so they sink but some one are not heavy so they float.

Flyingboat

A flying boat is made out of plastic and other stuff that they add on is a motor wings a seat so the pilot to drive it. A flying boat is used for to find things like coral and to go a swim in the sea and go snorkeling.

Swimming

I love Swimming! This term I had 8 lessons with some amazing instructors. They taught me lots of skills, and my teaching is getting better and better.

When we got to the GI pools our teacher sent us to go and get changed into our togs. You need to have a shower to wash the wax off your hair before you get in the pool. When we got out of the shower we were shivering and shaking like snow flakes.

Our instructor told us to lie on our backs and do small fast kicks with our flutter board. When we were near the island we had to roll over to our stomach,and do arm circles. We put one hand on the flutter board and did brain goggle check. We had to do kicks like scissors.

On the last day of swimming we did relay races. we had our own teams they were Dolphins,sharks and whales. My legs felt exhausted when I did small fast kicks,all the way to my teammates. I felt relieved to get to my partners.
