Maasai People

Me and my group had made a presentation about the Maasai people with Miss Hockly for inquiry.

The Warehouse visit

This morning The Warehouse came to visit us. So in the morning we did a waiata and sang to the warehouse people and then after when we where done doing the waiata we sat down and listen to the people and they had  to amazing prizes that we one, and our first prize was one thousand dollars for our school and we where like wow and we where shock that we actually won one thousand dollars. Your wondering how did we win the thousand dollars well they said we won the thousand dollars from something like plastic bags I dont know but im sure thats what they said. The thing they where talking about was for the past year and months they where helping us with the camp and our chrome books and it was amazing that they well help us with a lot of stuff. The next prize was for Mr Burt,Mr Burt won a reward for the leadership and he all so got a free 500 dollar voucher and he looked pretty happy. Then after it was done and Josephine gave a thank you speech and we sang a song and then we gave t them a clap and said thank you.

Google Expridetion visit

On the 24th of November  a guy name Michael came to our school with these stuff like he said there is a phone in a box which they are called google cardboard and in the google cardboard there is two goggles things in it and you hold the google cardboard like burger and put it to your face and then once u put it on the first thing you will see is paused by teacher and you just wait. So when we waited they explained to us about how the thing works and it sound really cool, it sound really cool because they said that its 4D and there are gonna be pics that are gonna pop up and it looks like you are actually at that place. What is 4D well 4D is a thing that you will get motion everytime it changes because it really amazing and it like comes right at you.

So back to the story Michael said that he can control these things that he can add the pictures off the ipad and there pics like space,skyscraper window washing,the king's house in paris,rock climbing down a really big hole,jungle looking at some insects and reptiles, outside a castle so we took a little adventure and then we were done because the year 8s came back from TC and I was not happy because I had a lot of fun. Man I had a fun time I hope next year they will come and do it again.  

Immersion Assembly

On the first day of term 4 of 2015 we had an Immersion Assembly to talk about our new topic. Our topic for this term is survival. So in immersion assembly Mr Burt was dressed as a survival person with a  fia boko bird on his head, a fia boko is a colorful parrot, so back to the immersion assembly. Well in the holidays every Team has to come up with an idea of a movie or a play that explains what they're doing for this topic for this term which is survival. So some teachers in the holidays came with an idea and act it or showed it in the immersion assembly and my favorite one was team 4.

Mr Goodwin came in front of the stage and said that this term team 4 is learning about animals and their habitats, Then they had a movie that was played and the movie had some lucky kids that got to be in it. My favorite part of the movie is when it was Desman’s scene, It was crack up when he was dancing and saying he was a kangaroo. It made me laugh so good that I wish that he can say some more funny things to make me laugh again.

Another thing that made laugh about Desman’s part of the movie is when he was dancing and the background of the little baby monkey was dancing too and it was funny that I thought that they were dancing like they were dance buddies. That was so Hilarious. That was the funniest movie I've seen in a long time in any immersion assemblies.

What have ive been learning this week

What I have learnt this week is about how to measure angels. Mr Wiseman my maths teacher showed us and told us about how to measure angles and how do you solve is, see what one is the answer. Here is an tip how to solve a angle question, first you have two red lines that will be pointing out wards and you but the bottom one to zero and count in tens till the other arrow will be pointing to the ten and then you count the little ones and see what the ones are and if it like 45 degrees then that's the answer. So what I mean is that the bottom arrow was at zero and the top one was at 40 then I count in ones to add to the 40 and i got 5 so I did 40 + 5=45 so the whole angle is 45 degrees. Thats what I have learnt from Mr Wiseman and from the angles game.

Cyber smart Miss Kyla

Lulu poster

Me and my group where learning about a book called Jelly-Belly. Jelly-Belly  is about a girl name Louisa but she said to them just call her Lulu. She was new to a school and did not know much about it and had no friends. I made a poster that will be imagined in the book to put on the school leader board so people will get to know her.

On Wednesday the 9th of September we where Learning about smart foot prints but this time we where learning about smart foot prints on a mobile phone. There where question that have been ask by Miss Kyla like.

What have I been doing this week

For this week what I have been learning in literacy class the first one I learnt was a book called the white truck.The book was about a Samoan family living in a small village, There was a little girl and boy name Timu and Moana. They where on a mango tree talking about stuff and eating mango's, so they keep talking about stuff then Timu saw a white truck with palagi people in it. Then they both where watching them get out of the car and saw them went walking in to Moana's house and going to get Moana's sick mum. Her mum had this disease called Lurposy, she was effect with that and got even more sick. Then Moana ran down fast to her mother and said to the palagi people to dont take her mother then the palagi people said that they have to take her oversea's. Then the Moana let her mother go then the people tokk her on the back of the truck and left there village, Moana said to Timu crying that she misses her mum and then they both went in the house and did something to make Moana fell better.



Other thing ive learnt in literacy in writing is how to prevent your self from getting sick. So Room 5 literacy have to write 3 paragraphs of how to prevent your self from getting sick, ive wrote a a whole paragraph of the writing so here is the writing. Keeping warm is another way to prevent yourself from getting sick. I’m gonna write about how to prevent yourself from getting sick so the first  thing to make you prevent yourself from getting sick is keeping warm on cold weathers. So to keep warm in cold weathers is to put on some pants a nice a warm jumper and some socks.

Then when you are sleeping at night try have 2 blankets on and maybe a hot water bottle, and wear some gloves if you have some but if you dont then rub your hands together and it might get warm, for an example it like the samoan thing that they go something like they say me meli meli meli.

Then that's when they rub there hands nice and fast and hard. Thats a example of rubbing your hands together is to do that. That’s one thing to prevent yourself from getting sick is to keep warm.

Smart Footprints

Room 1 and me where learning about Smart Footprints with Miss Kyla. We where talking about stuff that people can see online and stuff like that. So me and my buddy Tevita made this goggle drawing about what we talked about. hope you enjoy the work we done.

Term 3 Immersion Assembly.

Yesterday on Monday the 20th of july 2015 we had a Immersion Assembly on the first day of term three. Our Topic for this term is Trade & Enterprise, Trade & Enterprise means that the way you Trade,Buy or sell the stuff like an auction how you sell rare stuff or stuff that you think it looks cool for you and then you bet the amount of money you want to spend to win that thing you want from the auction. So this morning at the Immersion Assembly Mr Bert was doing an auction for the kids, the kids have to bet the most to win the prize that Mr Bert is auctioning. There where teachers in costume to do something for the performance for what they're doing for this whole term. At Immersion Assembly each team has to do a preform for the whole school about what they are gonna do about the topic for the whole term.

My favorite team performance out of the whole Immersion assembly was team 4. Thier one was about a boy sometimes have problems when he needs help. He has emotions that help him with the stuff he is having trouble with, His emotions were Extra happy,Calm and Sassy. It was like the movie called inside out, inside out is a movie that a girl has emotions that are in her head. Her emotions were called fear,Anger,disgust,sadness and joy. So back to team 4 performance, They were all of his emotions that helped him with stuff that he had trouble with. It was funny that Sassy was acting like what girls do sometimes when they talk to each other, it was so hilarious he made me laugh really hard. That's why that my team performance because it was funny.

Care Bears Billy Kart.

YAY!! :D we are done with the Billy kart, here is a list how we made it.

1. Hammer and drilled the wood together.

2.Then get some wheels from mitre 10 mega and we bought 4 wheels and two big ones, the big wheels at the back and the small wheels in the front.

3. And then you break a chair and drilled it to the wood.

4.And get the bottom part of the chair and put it in the front of the kart.

5. Then get a rope and put it together with the front wood for out steering wheel.

6 Then last but not least get one little wood for our brake, so every time you are going fast  in the kart you use the brakes to slow down the kart.

We have test the Kart and it go so!! good, the steering is nice and smooth, the seat is nice and convert and the brake works good.

YAY this is Really really cool!! and fun!!! :).

Future Aspirations

Today in the morning we where meeting 3 guys named Marcus Winter (Sand Man),Andrew Patterson (introduce) and Louis Gordon-Latty (basketball player). They where talking about how to live your dreams to make stuff come true that you like to do,like Marcus Winter (Sand Man) he is a artist that makes art out of sand to make it good, that was his dream to do is to become a artist.


Andrew Patterson (introduce) hes a guy that was telling us about stuff that scientist tell stuff that you think that is inpossable ,he was saying that if you struggle your brain will grow bigger, kids thought that when you struggle you struggle. Other stuff he was talking about that he Keep doing what makes you Awesome, and that means that the thing you like you just try to be Awesome at it. There was another thing he was talking about witch its called bounce and bounce back. He said bounce and bounce bake mean's that you get rejected from people and you rejected them back and he said that him,Marcus and Louis keeped getting bounce from asking them that they want to join and they keep getting bounce.

The last guy, name Louis Gordon-latty (basketball player) He was taling his life dream was to become a basketball player. He was training for basketball to get in a basketball team and he went to go as then they keep bouncing him, so he went to another one and he got bounce again,he keeped trying and trying and still got bounce then he ask a guy witch a club called League Glory. He was happy that he did not got bounce and he was happy that he finally got in a team after all of those bounces from other clubs.

Technology

I think Technology is good because you can like make cars to go drive somewhere far or have phones to text or call your family, and the good thing about them is how other kids in collage to learn the Technology so they can make something new with that kind of stuff and Computers are good cause you can play games and do your work things on it and you can go on this website called gmail and you can contact your friends on it.
